Sold Out APAI Golf Outings Raise Record Money For Scholarships

SOLD OUT APAI GOLF OUTINGS RAISE RECORD MONEY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The postponed APAI Eastern Iowa Golf Outing and the APAI Western Iowa Golf Outing were held within two weeks of each other in late August and were nearly mirror images of each other with record attendance, record fund-raising and record amounts of fun. “These two events are a full day, weather withstanding, of fun, camaraderie, and helping Iowa’s next generation of engineers and project managers” said Bill Rosener, Executive Vice President of the APAI. “We appreciate and applaud the generosity of our golfers and our sponsors, and we appreciate our student attendees from UNI Construction Management Club for giving their time in raising money for their club.”

This year’s total money raised was over $8000. This money will be added to money raised at the APAI Annual Convention Auction in late November. Last year, the APAI and its members gave over $40,000 in scholarships to students at University of Iowa, Iowa State University, DMACC and University of Northern Iowa. “We are proud of how our scholarships have grown in the past ten years,” said Rosener. “It is a testament to the high quality of the people who work in Iowa’s asphalt industry.”
