NORRIS ASPHALT AND IOWA DOT RECEIVE RECOGNITION AS FINALISTS FOR SHELDON G. HAYES AWARD
On February 1, 2017 at the National Asphalt Pavement Association’s Awards Breakfast, Iowa DOT District 4 Resident Construction Office in Chariton, IA and Norris Asphalt Paving Company of Ottumwa, IA were recognized as a Finalist for the prestigious Sheldon G. Hayes Award for 2016. The Sheldon G Hayes Award goes to the highest quality asphalt project in the nation. The project that received this distinction was Iowa Highway 2 near Centerville, IA. The project, constructed in 2015, underwent two years of intense scrutiny and judging. This is the eighth time since 2001 where Norris Asphalt has been a finalist or winner of the Sheldon G Hayes Award.
Receiving accolades for the Quality in Construction Awards for asphalt projects under 50,000 Tons were Manatt’s, Inc. of Newton, IA for their project CR F31 in Dallas County, and Norris Asphalt Paving Co. for CR G76 in Warren County.
