Class Description and Outline

This class is a comprehensive introduction into the world of hot-mix asphalt (HMA). The class will provide attendees with a straightforward understanding of the terminology, materials, production, paving and testing of asphalt and the foundation to move onto higher education asphalt classes. The class is designed for DOT, County, City, Consulting and Contractor personnel that have need of improved knowledge of asphalt to advance their education and career opportunities.

Class Description and Outline

This class will be an introduction into the role of the Asphalt Inspector, both in the asphalt plant and on the grade. Topics will include ethics, contractor interaction, project observation, identifying issues and resolving disputes. The class is geared to all DOT, city, county, and consulting engineer inspectors and contractor personnel who are looking for a strong knowledge base of asphalt inspection, safety on the grade, material production and best practices in building the highest-quality paving projects.
