WE ARE PROUD TO BE ONE OF THE STRONGEST AND MOST PROGRESSIVE STATE ASPHALT ASSOCIATIONS IN THE NATION.

The Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa’s Community Involvement Award recognizes outstanding programs in the area of community relations. This award is based on a company’s complete community program. If you have several projects, please list them all under one entry. Eligible programs involve active participation of company employees and may include activities such as advertising, sponsorship of athletic teams and/or scholarships, outreach to schools or other not-for-profit institutions, donations of paving or other construction services, community events like public meetings or open houses, etc. Employee participation is weighted heavily in the judging process.

Eligibility

The Community Involvement Award is open to all APAI Members. An ongoing program may be resubmitted from year to year.

Supporting documentation should include copies of advertisements, invitations/publicity for company events such as open houses, newspaper/magazine articles resulting from public relations activities, photographs of events, letters from community leaders, and/or awards from the community. Please limit supporting documentation to five items.

Instructions

1.  Complete this form.

2.  On company letterhead please give the Executive Summary (no longer than one page), describing your company’s community involvement program in detail. If more than one project is in place, please summarize each separately. If you feel that a photo would help your case, remember that a picture is worth 1000 words.

3.  Please also include digital photos documenting the activities described above. Submit entries no later than October 13, 2023.

A team of impartial judges will evaluate the substance and effectiveness of the program.
