APAI SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS

DESCRIPTION:
The APAI Special Recognition Awards recognize projects and programs that exemplify environmental leadership, innovative community involvement, and quality design and workmanship in construction of asphalt projects.
SPECIAL AWARD APPLICATIONS CATEGORIES:

- Community Involvement Award
- Consulting Engineer of the Year Award
GENERAL RULES:
Special Recognition Award Entries are eligible to be submitted by APAI contractors, APAI members and APAI Consulting Engineer members. One submission per category, per entity. Projects are to have been completed by Oct. 11, 2024 to be eligible for judging. Prior work from 2023 is eligible, if completed after Oct. 15, 2023. All work is to be submitted by September 27, 2024 for judging.
AWARD CRITERIA:
Environmental Awards - Award submitted by APAI Producer Members. Award recognizes the APAI producer member's leadership in environmental culture and compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Community Involvement Award - Award is eligible to all APAI Member companies. Award will recognize the efforts of APAI members in community outreach, philanthropic endeavors and industry education. Special emphasis is given to employee participation.
Consulting Engineer of the Year Award - Award is eligible to all APAI Consulting Engineer Members. Award may be submitted by any APAI members. Award will recognize the consulting engineering firm that has shown exemplary knowledge of asphalt construction in both design and construction of asphalt projects.
Innovative Project / Design of the Year Award - This Award is a discretionary award for projects that exemplify innovative design in the construction of asphalt pavements. Projects eligible for the award will be selected by APAI award judges and will be evaluated for the award by a committee formed from all award category judges.
Robert M. Nady Award - This award will go to the singular project selected from all APAI award winners. The project will be judged on merit, difficulty, design, and quality construction. Award will be selected by a committee formed from all category judges.
Projects that do not win the specific category are eligible for honorable mention status (except Robert M. Nady Award) and a Special Recognition Award Certificate.
