Members and Dues:
APAI is made up of the following classifications and dues structure:
Asphalt Producers: These are the highest quality HMA producer / contractor members. The dues structure is based upon a per HMA plant charge and a per ton fee for placement.
Asphalt Non-Producers: These members are HMA paving specialists or specialized HMA pavement rehabilitation specialists. The dues structures is a lump sum yearly charge with a per ton /per gallon / per square yard fee based upon the company’s focus of expertise.
Asphalt Cement Suppliers: These companies provide the APAI producer members with the finest asphalt cements and emulsions. The dues structure is a lump sum yearly fee.
Aggregate Suppliers: These companies provide the APAI producer members with the finest aggregates and partner with HMA producers in making the high quality HMAs placed in Iowa. The dues structure is a basis yearly fee, plus a capped assessment for tons used in asphalt mixes.
Associate Members: These companies are recognized as partners of the asphalt industry. They are committed to providing the asphalt contractors with the tools to succeed in paving Iowa’s roadways. The dues structure is a lump sum yearly fee of $600.
Consulting Engineers: These progressive engineering firms have made a commitment to gaining further knowledge in the design and construction of quality asphalt pavements. Dues structure is a lump sum yearly fee of $400.
Affiliate Members (or Friends of Asphalt): Members may consist of individuals or agencies who believe in the benefits of asphalt and are interested in being affiliated with APAI and its membership. These individual or agency members will be entitled to attend all APAI functions, but will not be entitled to vote or serve on the Board of Directors. Dues for Individual Members will be $50 per year. Agency members will consist of Municipalities, Counties, and other organizations with an interest in the use of asphalt to the benefit of the public section. Dues for this level of Membership is $100 per year .
Student Members: Students who are interested in asphalt as a construction material or in the asphalt industry are encouraged to submit an application. Student membership is free.
